What are the characteristics of electrostatic separators?

2024-10-12

When it comes to separators, many friends may not know much about its working principle. In addition, compared with eddy current separators, what are the characteristics of electrostatic separators? In response to these questions, let's follow the electrostatic separator equipment manufacturer  to have a brief understanding!

Generally speaking, separators are mainly used for various non-ferrous metals such as domestic garbage, industrial garbage, and waste plastic doors and windows. When working, a high-frequency alternating strong magnetic field is generated on the surface of the sorting magnetic roller to achieve separation from other non-metallic materials, thereby achieving the purpose of sorting.

In terms of working principle, electrostatic sorting mainly uses high voltage electricity to work. The electrodes of the sorting magnetic roller are the same as the electrodes on the metal surface, while eddy current sorting uses alternating induction magnetic poles.

In addition, in terms of efficiency, in a working environment where the material processing volume is small and relatively fine, an electrostatic separator can be used for sorting. For materials with a large diameter and a large processing volume, eddy current sorting can be used. The efficiency of the electrostatic separator is low!

Moreover, the electrostatic separator equipment manufacturer and factory wants to tell you that the two methods are also very different in power consumption. Since electrostatic separation works through high-voltage static electricity, the power consumption is greater than that of eddy current separation.
